Tascam US-122 insert question

Is it possible to take an already existing track in Sonar 1.0 and send it out to a US-122's insert jacks?
Basically, I'm looking to take Track 1 and send it to the insert jack, apply that effect, and then put the new track into track 2. Is this possible, or is the Tascam's insert jack only used for putting effects on tracks that are being recorded at the time?
