tryed scratch vocals w/ no mic pre- amp and timing or latency off.
Not quite syncing w/ the Track or is it because my midi trks haven't been
converted to audio yet? any suggestions?

try bringing your latency slider to the left in options- audio, and no the midi doesn't have to be converted for it to be in sync.
