Hey does anyone know where I may be able to take a sonar or cakewalk class? I live in New York but I'm only 15 so Im not sure if classes like this are opened to kids or not. Does anyone have any suggestions? This would really help.

Not much like that around in the UK so I don't think you will have much luck in the states. The best you could hope for is someone who lives near by who could show you.

Depending on what cakewalk product you use (I can't remember) but the Power Range of books by Scott Garigus are great. No techno jargon, straight forward, working on projects from beginning to end.

I got the Sonar 2 Power book and learnt no end of stuff from it.

Thx a lot for the reply. Maybe I'll look into getting that Sonar 2 Power book you mentioned. Also, I learned that my dad is good friends with an experienced cakewalk user who works in Sam Ash so maybe I can learn something from him....thx again

You should check out a Cakewalk clinic. They are around the Northeast area quite a lot.

In Boston we get them frequently, although Cakewalk is here. I am 99% sure they give them in NYC as well.

:D I know you're a very busy man, but I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for your Sonar Power books. Sonar 3 Power is simply AMAZING, thank you SO MUCH for creating such an excellent Book! It is without a doubt my BIBLE in the studio. I would still be scratching my head over a LOT of things were it not for your wisdom. I only wish I could tell you in person and shake your hand. You have my deepest respect and gratitude of your knowledge.

I own the entire Cakewalk Power Series and I swear by them. I could babble on all day, but you are definitely worshipped in my world =) THANKS MAN!

Scott, I'll stand up on a soap box anywhere in the world and scream praises until my throat bleeds! LOL Your mastery and insight into the Sonar software is absolutely amazing. I would be honored to comment on your behalf anywhere anytime. I owe everything I know about Sonar to YOUR BOOKS! They sit right beside my monitor for "instant access" when I need solid answers ASAP. I couldn't do what I do without your wisdom. Again I say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! =)

PS Any juicy tidbits on a Sonar 4? What does the future hold for Cakewalk?
