ok... I know that sb cards are not highly recommended, but that's what I have so lets not go there.

I have Home Studio 2004. I've downloaded the latest drivers off of creatives site. They're contained in this file(LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe) and appear as SB Live! Audio [9000] in cakewalks audio menu. Everytime I have installed these drivers, all audio tracks skip and jitter. If I install the drivers that came with the card on upon its release several years ago, work fine... with the exception of one of its file preventing my comp from properly shutting down. I want to eliminate that problem, and also run my card with the latest drivers... any ideas?

Celeron 2.7ghz
512 DDR
SB Live MP3+ 5.1

First, I would check and see what kid of drivers you are using (MME, WDM, ASIO) and make sure they are properly selected in your drivers option in Cakewalk.

Next, I would check to see that you are set to 'trigger and flywheel' and are not synching to MIDI

After that, I would check your wordclock and master clock settings.
