Problems when processing 24-bit wave tracks

Hallo!
I use Cakewalk Pro Audio 8 with a EDIROL UA-25 midi/audio interface. I'm having some problems when processing 24-bit wave tracks recorded with cakewalk effects, in particular with delay. After setting the delay time and the other parameters, when I click "OK" an error message appears relating to some a .DLL file and I have to restart the program. If I don't process in place the file, i.e., I send the processed file to a different track, such error message doesn't appear but the processed track is full of noises.
Another problem occurs when combining two overlapping wave tracks. The amplitude of the signal rises of 1000%. The same problem occurs when groove quantizing 24-bit wave tracks.
Can you help me?
