Recording problems

Hi everyone, I was hoping someone might have a solution to my problem. First of all, I'm using an Audigy Sound Blaster 2 NX USB soundcard and cakewalk homestudio 2004. I can record an initial live or midi track just fine, but upon trying to record a second track, I record both the playback sound from track 1 and the the live sound at the same time. Thus I have all these overlapping sounds. I've tried working with my in's and out's, thinking that might be the reason I'm recording both the playback and the live sound, but I just can't fix it. PLease help. Thanks in advance.
You need to enable full duplexing mode on your soundcard then be carefull of what prot you are monitoring on.
Let's say you have
USB Audio A-L
USB Audio A-R
USB Audio A-Stereo
for choices of iput/output ports
Choose USB Audio A-L for an input and USB Audio-R for output.
Sounds like you are recording what you are listening to.
Also, if you are using an external source to monitor (mixer) make sure you are not sending the incoming cakewalk signal back to your soundcard.
Good Luck!
