Guitar Tracks 2

I recently upgraded from a Dell laptop running Win2K to a Shuttle PC running XP Pro. I am recording through a guitar port although I get the same effects with an analog input.

If I have a track recorded (from live or imported) then I can not hear it when I have another track enabled for record. Needless to say, this makes life tricky. I am certain that the pre-recorded tracks are enabled, have reasonable volume settings and the armed track is not solo. The output device is correct and I can play the recorded tracks just fine.

I have been through the same procedure on the laptop and recordings are fine. Oh, and I will of course uninstalled GT2 as soon as it is running on the new PC.

The system has a fast hard drive, 512 MB or RAM, an Athlon 1900+ and has SP1 for XP installed.

Suggestions not so much welcomed as pounced upon!

Thanks

A very blue BluesScale.

You don't say what soundcard you are using. In order for you to monitor as you record your soundcard has to be full duplex. If it is a new soundcard it will be. The problem will probably lie in you audio options. I am not familiar with GT2 now but there will be something to set up in the options to enable you to monitor whilst recording. Any thing that mentions duplex needs to be set to full, and buffers and drivers have to be enabled for both recording and play back.
