Drop outs?

Re-Mastering from analog 16 1/2 inch to pro audio 9 via aardvark Q 10. New xp operating system 2.6 GHz 120 gig memory, 1 gig ram. all unused systems turned off. Adjusted I/0 buffers, and mixing latency but still have recorded trax mis aligned timing during playback. It will play correct for a few ticks but then jump out of time with itself. Im not sure if this is considered a drop out or not but it sure is aggrevating. I am grouping 16 trax into eight subs don't know if that matters or not?
