computer mic gives no sound through mixer

I'm sure there's an easy answer for this, but I can't get any of the 2 computer mics I have to give any sound through my mixer. They both work fine on the computer, but when I use them with the 1/8" to 1/4" jack that my mixer needs, I get no sound, even though I get sound into my headphones (my mic is part of my headphone assembly, it's a boom mic). Why don't these mics work and can I get a jack to make it work?

Make sure you are using a stereo adapter. Your quarter inch should have 3 sleeves. If it does not, some mixers will not accept a step down.

Computer mics aren't regular mics. They're useless for your purposes as they require a special kind of power only supplied by soundcards

Computer microphones that use a mini 1/8-inch (3.5mm) phone plug do require power, but not phantom power. No simple adapter will make these mics work in a pro system.
