problems importing a wave file into cakewalk

I just installed cakewalk and I want to start a new project from a wave file
from a cd. It will not import or recognize it as a wave file

CD's contain files called .cda (CD Audio). You need to convert the cda file to a .wav file before Cakewalk will see it.

There are many programs (like Cakewalk Pyro) that can do this for you.
