I'm trying to get an ever-so-slight amount of reverb on vocals, but every setting and preset I try makes me sound like I'm singing in a cave or reduces the levels on the vocals significantly. Any advice?

Do you record your vocals on one track or multiple?

Play with the mix slider if you're using FX Reverb.

I always record vocals onto a stereo track and use Waves trueverb but a good starting point in cakewalk is the FXreverb and try the warm intimate preset, then tweak from there.

I record vocals on just one track.

I have found that my voclas sound a lot fatter and cleaner when done on multiple tracks. I use Bluereverb downloaded from digilogue.de and it works great with FXReverb in Cakewalk.

Hope that helps.
