I know this is simple, but here goes...

I was interested in C-walk because it sports "realtime DX effects". Now, this may not be what I think it is, so I will ask.

Ok, I use ONLY waves pro-fx ultra pitch DX plugin, and ONLY want to use it in realtime - plug in a mic, talk into the mic, and hear a pitch altered sound out with no delay. Every progam I have tried cannot do this.

Should I give up and just purchase a boss VT-1, or can my lowly old pentium-4 3GHz with a gig of ram do this job (you would think it could).

Cheers.

I think the type of thing you are after might be something like DSound.

I have a light version of the GT Player. It allows you to load in Wave backing tracks. The lite version will not allow third party effects but the full versions might.

Latency dedends on you soundcard and drivers.

Well, that proggie came close, but it only supports VST pluggins, and waves pro-fx pitch/formant change is only Direct-X. Too bad!

There are no good formant changers available, other than waves pro (direct-x), or hardware. Voice machine, Antares, and the other format changers are inferior and sound like alvin and the chipmunks on acid.

Too bad. All that processor power available, and I still have to purchase a boss-vt1 on ebay!

Oh well.

Thanks for the attempt!
