I've asked a question concernign this before and the answers I recieved helped but Im having trouble again. Im having trouble hearing audio and I want to be able to convert MIDI to audio to create wave/mp3s. I have a Edirol PCR midi keyboard controller and a Roland RS-5 synthesizer. These are connected together and to the computer via a USB interface. The synthesizer's line out is connected to my soundcard's line in. Whenever I record audio either I cant get my levels high enough or when I do all I hear is static. Does anyone have any ideas?

You may want to check your line in level before the signal hits Cakewalk.

- Click the speaker icon in your taskbar
- properties/recording/line in

what kind of levels are you getting?

If the level looks good but is still distorted, you may want to make sure you're not clipping it in Cakewalk.

Try backing off your synth's master volume a bit. Maybe you are overloading it.

Try a different cable - also check to make sure the cable you are using is not loose.

Good Luck!
