Can't get it to load correctly

I am trying to load Home Studio on my Windows xp. The first message that I get says "one or more sound cards won't support stereo. Audio default has been switched to mono." How do I change this? It has affected my entire computer.

The next problem is that when I try to open the tutorial, an error message says, "this is not a cakewalk format file." Obviously it is because it is the Cakewalk Tutorial! Nothing is working. I took the program off of my computer and reloaded. Even went back to Sam Ash and had them load it on their computer where it worked fine.

Please help!

To get the soundcard problem sorted go to the options menu > Audio and on the advanced page either check the 'use MME interface' box or select the MME drivers from a drop down list (whichever is applicable to your software).

The turorial is not a Cakewalk file that you load into Cakewalk. It is a text file that you access through the Help files Index and follow step by step.
