I am a beginner with Home Studio 2004 through an M-Audio usb into a Yamaha Rm1x. I cannot get the Rm1x footswitch to start the recorder. Please help. Thanks

If you mean you want to activate the sequencer record function by triggering it with the RM1X then you will have to set the sync to midi then when you press record Cakewalk will wait for a midi signal to trigger the recording.
