I've read other posts regarding this and don't hold much hope but all I want to do is record two tracks at once. (guitar and vocals) I have Cakewalk Home Studio and a Soundblaster Live card. I thought my sound card had a stereo mic input so I tried splitting the channels and recording a separate track for each...no luck. I'm considering getting a pre-amp and trying the same thing using the line-in jack instead. Anyone have a better idea?

You should be able to record on seperate track if you:

1- Select L input for track 1
2- select R input for track 2

make sure you are panning your two sources (in your case guitar and vocals) hard left and right
