I've been looping for quite a while. I just purchased Platinum Loops, and can't say enough good things about them. Here is a link to what I've been doing with loops, in terms of original music for my band to pick up and play.. This is for me, not just film.

Please have a listen to anything from Twentyonemix or BellaCoola. I am really proud of Twentyfourmix. This was the first pure jazz song that I've created using all loops. I hope you like my material. Thanks for the listen.

I listened to 24 mix. IMHO there is way too much compression going on. It makes the bass drum sound flat and the whole mix feel kind of wierd- maybe that's what you were going for though. You may want to back off on the comp though - I can't imagine what that would sound like if it were ever on the radio (radio stations are notorious for adding even more compression).

Here is a short sample of a song I recorded that's in a similar style. Keep in mind I'm no jazz guitar player. It was for a film that was at Sundance recently. The drums are real.

Wow...I listened to your guys stuff. I'm an amateur at this thing. I've recorded a few myself if you wanna check them out. My first attempt at a Jazz song is there, check it out. It's simply titled, "Jazz-Z"

I had a listen to your stuff. Nice big rock tunes... Thanks for listening to my stuff(link below) I do play jazz, blues etc. With my band "Stretch", and we are going to play some of this material... I am writing using all loops, and my bass, and vocals in some tracks... Just so you know. I am doing the looping using "Platinum Loops", and some Cyclick stuff. I found it much easier to loop an upright than learn to play bass all over again.. Thanks for the listen.

You have a nice sound. Has somewhat of a wide sterio sound. The instruments seem very seperate from each other yet they blend. What are you running your stuff through? How are you getting a wide sterio sound like that? Is it a certain effect your applying to your mix? I'm obviously still earning a lot about all this. I've been playing for around 18 years but only recording for about 4.

Thanks

Put a stereo delay on a mono bass track. Mix set to full. Delay time set to 0 on one side and 7.5mls on the other. Now the bass is panned out like a chorus but without the swooooosh. This really gives the mix a big hole for whats left to sit in. Thanks again for the listen.

The above has been remixed to add more bass. I've plugged the ports in my Tannoys, as I have had to replace my trusted old (25years)Nikko amp. It finally went so had to replace it with Yamaha. Still getting used to it. Anyways. If you have a listen to this song, please let me know how the bottom sounds. Thanks for the listen.

I am trying to finesse a bit more with these next few pieces. They are all done with loops. I hope you like "Normal Behaviour". It is meant to be just that. This song does not move except along. Thanks for the listens, if you've found your way here. Sig for link. Thanks again.
