I'm trying to find a way to keep my vocals from going too loud or too soft. I'd like it to stabilize at a happy medium. Is there a filter in Cakewalk to do this?

This can easily be done by using Cakewalk's Compressor. Sadly, this isn't a real-time usable effect, so you'll have to select the audio you want to compress, right click, select compressor, then make your compression, then audition or apply. If it isn't what you want, just undo and try again!

You can also do a search on the net for free compessors, there are loads of them. Some good some not so good.
