hi

i recorded this with my friend a few months ago with home studio.

PLEASE have a quick listen and let me know what you think.

it's acoustic - just guitar and 2 voices. it's very short, so it won't take up much time.

if you do listen to it, please use the "hifi" option, rather than the "lofi" option.

hope you enjoy it. please let me know your thoughts....

That is really good Adrian. I could only listen on crappy headphones at the moment but I have downloaded it and will listen properly later.

I really enjoyed it.

A good place to post a link for your tune is in the Listening Lounge over at the ComputerMusic Forum. You will get some good constructive feedback there. They tell it like it is :D

http://forum.midiaddict.com/index.php

You will have to register a user name like you do here.

Tell them you got the link from me then they don't just think your someone spamming the forum with their new tune. It's a good place to hang out anyway.

Wow. okay, so now you have to tell us HOW you did it. what mic did you use on the acoustic? did you do it live? or overdub the vocals?

what mic did you use on the vox? i feel like theres a lot highs in it...a lot of 10K. did you bump that up in the EQ?

thanks for your feedback guys

andy - i will try that forum thanks.

kentothink: you asked what i used to record:
i used home studio on my home pc. i have an ADK condenser mic (A-51) which i used for the guitar and vocals. i recorded the guitar separately, then recorded the vocals track by track. did the whole track in a few hours and then mastered it in home studio a few weeks later.

we play this song live when we do gigs in london.

we've got some coming up soon - let me know if you want to come along.

the highs in the eq are boosted a bit using the bbe sonic maximiser. i sometimes overuse this, but it's such a nice effect.

will post some more tunes soon.

hi

does anyone know of any other forums where i can post this song? we're getting a lot of good feedback, and i want to push for a bit more feedback.

i've posted it on the listening lounge at CM/FM forum, which is excellent.

any others out there?

thanks

adrian

There is always the official Cakewalk forums in the section called songs. Big scary place though

http://www.cakewalk.com/forum/default.asp

If you sign up for a free account with Electromancer you can upload your song there and post about it in their forums.

http://www.electromancer.com/index.php

The Home Recording Studio in this section of the forum

http://homerecording.com/bbs/forumdisplay.php?f=5

Sound on Sound forums in the Sound files section. This is where the big boys play so watch out for bullies.

Of course you could always do your own web site and meta tag it with loads of different words so that it comes up high on search engines.
