I need to reduce the volume of the bass drum only on the drum track of some midifiles --I am using CAKEWALK PRO AUDIO 9
Any help would be appreciated

If you want to reduce the volume of the bass drum only on the drum track, go to Piano Roll, and with right mouse bottom see the pitch of the bass drum (in my Cake it is C3). Then go to Edit --> Select --> By Filter --> None --> Note --> in "Key" write: C3 / C3 --> {Enter}. Now, you have only all C3 selected.
Go to Edit --> Run Cal --> Velocities.Cal and write % you want reduce of the total C3 volume.
In piano roll observe the change in velocities of Note Properties (right bottom on the drum note).
That way, you only reduce velocities of drum leaving the other ones drum notes without modifying.
