I have a DGX205 Yamaha Keyboard and Cakewalk XL Home. The kwyboard has a sequencer in it with 5 tracks. How can I communicae with my PC in order to record from the Keyboard to PC. Can I record the arrangment (left hand) split into separate track on CW, or all left-hand instruments will be on 1 track on CW? Alternatively, how can I record the song from Keyboard to PC as a wave file?

Thanks much....Sorry for my low knowledge level...But I want to learn..

The sequencer on the keyboard will probably not sync up with Cakewalk.

Easiest thing to do is open a project and insert 16 midi tracks on channels 1-16. Arm them all , press record and play a tune on the keyboard. When you press stop you will see which channels the midi has been recorded on.

As for recording a wave you will need to connect a cable from either the line out or phones out on the keyboard to the line in on the sound card.

Insert an audio track, arm it, press record and play the keyboard.
