The LIVEDRIVE fits in an extra CD ROM bay and connects by a wide data cable to the SB Live PCI soundcard. The LiveDrive has inputs for Midi in/out, SPDIF in/out, 1/4" Guitar/Microphone, and Headphone. Works great with my guitar, bass and midi keyboard. By now this is 2 or 3 generations old (Soundblaster Audigy II is the current model) so you should be able to pick one up for $50-$100 bucks.

Good luck!

Excellant info in that link. If you can budget a little bit more and stay away from the creative cards if possible. Look at the Audiophile 24/96 and the Terratec DMX 6 Fire. They seem to be the favourite cards at the moment.
