Try downloading the latest version of directshow from microsoft and installing it first. Then reinstall Cakewalk. Is this Cakewalk PA 9 you are trying to install because in your other post you said you were using HS2002, PA 9 is a backward step.

Thanx for the reply. I was using HS2002 but I had too many problems with it. CWpro9 works better for me.

I cant find directshow on the microsoft website. It supposed to come with Directx but I have the latest Direct x Version
Any ideas?

Sorry Albert, someone else is having the same problem and I can't think of an answer. I'll have a dig around and see what I can come up with.

you can fix the Direct Show 5 problem with a simple registry hack.

If you are using Windows XP click Start then Run. Type REGEDIT and hit enter.

Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
MICROSOFT
WINDOWS
CURRENT VERSION
RUNONCE

In the right hand side of the page you will see a reference to Cakewalk. Click on this once so it is highlighted and delete it. This will fix your problem.

Good Luck!!
