I suspect you've changed the speed in the "playback" variables part of the software, shifting the speed slider from side to side will speed up or slow down playing here but will not affect the speed of a saved or .midi file. For this you need to get something down on paper. I'm a beginner and sometimes using the classical speed directions doesn't appear to make any difference, so the best thing to do is add a metronome mark, and play with the speed (eg. how many crotchet or full beats in a minute) without adjusting the speed-slider at the top (keep the slider in the middle of authentic speed) until satisfied, THEN save as .midi. Works for me anyway.
