Message:I have several projects which were recorded with the audio format set to 16 bits (with dithering). If I try to export these projects to a .WAV file and then play the .WAV file back, I get an invalid codec on most playback programs (QuickTime, Windows Media, Cakewalk) or the file is reported as having bad information.
Interestingly enough, the only thing that does seem to play the files is the very basic QuickTime audio playback program on a Mac. The PC versions just explode.
If I try to change the audio format for the project to 24 bits and export it again, same problem. I also tried the StripWav program to clean the buggers up, but StripWav reports that there is compression and an invalid CD format (which, when I check it, seems fine).
Am I screwed here? Do these projects have to be redone using the 24 bit audio format?
Thanks for your help.
